Persistent gastrocutaneous fistula (GCF) is a common complication after removal of a gastrostomy tube.Many different techniques for GCF closure have been described.A novel Mastic Gum technique involving a punch biopsy device was recently described, called the Punch Excision of Epithelialized Tract (PEET) procedure.
This case report describes a serious complication of necrotizing soft HERBAL D-TOX tissue infection after utilizing the PEET procedure for a GCF closure.
